ALEXANDRIA, VA – The National Agricultural Aviation Association (NAAA) is pleased to announce that Doug Davidson of Clinton, Ark., has been elected Secretary of NAAA for 2013. Davidson is the owner of Davidson Solid Rock Insurance and is a pilot. He is licensed in more than 40 states and specializes in aviation insurance. While agricultural aviation is the majority of his business, he also insures corporate, private, business and pleasure aircraft and other aviation-related segments.
Davidson has always been a staunch supporter of NAAA. He has served on NAAA’s insurance and convention committees for several years and is chairing the insurance committee in addition to his officer duties this year. As NAAA Secretary, he says he is looking forward to working more closely with the other officers and helping out however he can. An optimist at heart, Davidson feels strongly that agriculture is a growing industry even in today’s economy. “I tell people all the time that of all the areas we deal with in aviation, the bright spot is agriculture. In the ag aviation portion of our business, our aircraft values are holding better than any other segment of aviation. We’re hiring pilots as opposed to corporate America which is laying off pilots.” Davidson is joined on the 2013 NAAA officer team by President Dana Ness of Ag-Air Inc., Rudyard, Mont.; Vice President Rick Boardman of Boardman Aerial Spraying Inc., Henderson, Neb.; and Treasurer Brenda Watts of K & P Flying Service, Watson, Ark.
The National Agricultural Aviation Association (NAAA) represents more than 1,800 members in 46 states. NAAA supports the interests of small business owners and pilots licensed as professional commercial aerial applicators that use aircraft to enhance food, fiber and bio-fuel production, protect forestry and control health-threatening pests.
