Chicago Air Show Sees Part Fall

August 21 - The air show at Chicago (IL) had some small excitement over the weekend.  It appears that a part may have fallen off of one of the Thunderbirds while it was performing.  WLS Channel Seven TV in Chicago reported that over a million people attended the event.

Now 50 States Strong

July 26 - For the first month ever, Fly-Low Publication hard copy has gone 50 states in coverage.  A first of which we are proud and we'll give you more information at a later date.  In less that five years, the issue has moved from one state to fifty.  We're proud and just wanted to pass the information on to you or reader and advertiser.  Without you, we couldn't have done it.  If your FBO isn't receiving copies, have them email us the address.  They are free to pilots from FBOs.

July 21 - For  the  fifth  consecutive  year,  employees  at  Columbia AFSS, Columbia Regional Airport Board, and Central Missouri Aviation (fixed-base operator, FBO)  are sponsoring Columbia as a Way- point stopover for pilots traveling to  the  EAA  Air  Adventure at OSHKOSH, Wisconsin from July 23rd and 24th. Aviators Fly To Fayetteville

July 19 - Monday July 18th was a sad day in Arkansas and the United States.  Fayetteville-Springdale the home of Bobby Younkin saw aviators fly in from all parts of this country to honor one of their own.  A large crowd attended the funeral and reception at the Arkansas Air Museum located on Drake Field.  Aviation has lost two of it's best performers.....  Jimmy Franklin (right) and Bobby Younkin (left).

June 2 – Many writers feel that a long written story is the ultimate.  It is hard sometimes as publisher to explain to them that a five-hundred word story can be interesting and effective.  I decided to check on a couple of well written words.  Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, one of the best known outstanding monologues, was only two-hundred thirty-five words and in Throttle Forward I quote Pastor Martin Niemoller.  His eighty-seven words ring today as they did in the 1940s.  These eighty-seven words will never last that long.  MORE...
