Air Show Safety
December 30 - This year closes and with
it many of our friends who perform at air shows have "Gone
West". I have witnessed two of these accidents in
twenty-four months. Out of that has come a my desire
to improve the performance and response time of those who
are protecting my friends. We we are preparing a CD
with information that will be free to those who have air
shows. I have the info posted on this
page.
EVERYTHING on that page, my story and the links at the
bottom are Public Domain, use them anyway you see fit.
Take a look and join Fly-Low's effort to spread these
documents to those who have airshows..

"Wild Girls Do!"
December 20 - Did you ever wonder,
“what if”, “if only” or “what would it be like”? Jacquie
Warda’s thoughts of flying go back to her childhood. Not
many days passed in her young life where dreams of flight
didn’t linger. She was exposed to aviation at the age of
three. And as the saying goes, she grew up and life got
in the way of flight lessons early on, so she waited.

"Sons of Legends"
December 13 - For over
30 years, the definition of air shows has been Jimmy
Franklin and Bobby Younkin. These two brought the most
innovative, insane, and impossible acts to life with their
super-human ability to fly. By keeping the tradition
alive, the next generation of Franklin and Younkin are
showing the world that they have what Bobby used to call
“that defective gene.” Kyle
Franklin and Matt Younkin are both third generation pilots
who come from rather well known families in the aviation
community. They are less than a year apart in age and air
shows have been a part of their lives since day one. MORE...

Phil Boyer's summation... "
"If you're not willing to be consistent, then we
might think that you're pandering to uninformed public fears, posturing
from the soapbox of demagoguery, screaming security for your own
political ends." Go to the above link and read the entire statement.
Guess What Is A NO-NO???
October 7 - Recently, Unicom frequency has seen the
increase usage of “Any traffic in the area, please advise.” It seems
that the FAA believes that if you are a pilot in the area, you will
announce your position, without being asked to do so. That is just
plain common sense.
