September 14 - Occasionally, we hear of the incapacitation of a pilot and/or co-pilot where the passenger has to land the plane.  In this case, the daughter of the pilot was in the back of the plane and not affected by the carbon monoxide gas.  She was not a pilot and did a superb job according to airport officials.  MORE...

September 4 - In the bizarre new world of innumerable temporary flight restrictions (TFRs), the FAA determined that a law requiring TFRs over major league games meant that the agency couldn't issue a waiver for the Cleveland National Air Show Friday night because the Cleveland Indians will be playing nearby.

Duane Cole's Widow Dies

August 11 - Duane Cole's widow, Judy,  passed away at her home surrounded by friends and family yesterday.  Duane recently passed away at the age of 89.  His wife of sixty-six years was in her mid-eighties.  Mrs. Cole had been in bad health for years.  In their early years of performing aerobatics, Mrs. Cole was Duane's wing walker.  She was for many years instrumental in running the Cole Brothers Aerobatic Team.  At one time, she was a wing walker for her son, Rolly, during his aerobatic days.  He was killed in a plane accident around 40 years ago.  Memorials may be sent to the Duane Cole Memorial Fund, 731 N. W. Tarrant, Burleson, TX 76028.

August 3 - Oshkosh AirVenture is one of those tough eggs to break.  Not just everyone can perform at the "Big One", only the "Best of the Best".  One of those is Randy Henderson.  We have featured Randy's Texas T-Cart in Fly-Low in past issues.  His performance is a show stopper.  He performed three days at AirVenture this year..  The only thing missing was his lovely wife, Di, doing the announcing.  That change was due to a new rule placed in effect this year by AirVenture officals.  To learn more about Randy and the T-Cart go to this PAGE.
