Business Spotlight:
Sharp Aviation
By Ken Krongos
Sharp Aviation, Inc.
is a full service Flight School. It provides its student with training
from Private Pilot through Airline Transport Certificate. Sharp also
has a full fleet of training and rental aircraft available, from single
engine trainers to high performance and multiengine aircraft.
Sharp
Aviation also features an Aircraft Maintenance facility that specializes
in General Aviation single and multi-engine aircraft repair. Dale Sharp
(pictured at right) states, “We do everything the aircraft owner
needs, from overhauling engines to repairing and rebuilding the
aircraft’s airframe from the ground up. We also buy and sell aircraft.”
Dale Sharp founded
Sharp Aviation in 1973, after retiring from a 20 years career in the Air
Force. He retired with his Pilot’s License, Single and Multi-Engine
land plus all the maintenance certificates he would need in his new
endeavor. In Sharp’s “retirement”, he’s found a dream job he enjoys
more than any retirement.
Sharp has plans to
expand the operation in the future. Moving into a larger hanger and
adding turbine engine repair and overhaul to the list of services
available. In the future, there’s the possibility of adding a limited
Part 135 Air Charter Service, also.
Sharp Aviation’s
Flight Department Manager is Julie Hall. Julie’s husband Jimmy Hall is
Sharp’s lead mechanic. George Jackson is the Maintenance Shop Chief.
Sharp and his crew
have been at it since 1973 and plan to keep going strong and growing
till the next millennium. Be fore warned though their love for aviation
is contagious.
In true aviation and
FBO sprit there is always a fresh pot of coffee brewing for fly-in
visitors and customers.
