Olive
Branch (MS) Opens Tower
Memphis / Olive Branch, Mississippi Airspace Changes Presented by
Memphis Air Traffic Control
Olive Branch, MS will become Class D airspace when their new tower opens
in the next few months. This will be a major change and may result in
confusion or quite some time as pilots and controllers learn the new
system. Memphis Air Traffic Control will be working with the new
tower, corporate operators, flight schools and area pilots to make the
transition as smooth as possible.
Each meeting will address issues including operations at controlled
airports with emphasis on procedures to be used at Olive Branch, delays
in charting updates, pilots with outdated charts, proper phraseology,
traffic flow control, collision avoidance and pilot/controller
responsibilities.
