Pilots of American To Meet

The Annual Black Pilots of
America (BPA) will be held on Memorial Day at Grider Field in Pine Bluff
(AR). The activities start on Thursday, May 27th and go
through Sunday May 30th. Friday’s events will include a Pace
Program presented by the LIT FSDO.
Speakers include Jarrett
McFarlin, LIT FSDO SPM-OPS, Steven Buckner, Fort Worth SPM-OPS, Caleb
Rice, LIT FSDO SPM- Maintenance, and John Knight of the Arkansas
Department of Aeronautics.
Fuchsia Davis will be one of the guest speakers at this year’s event.
Davis is a junior at Germantown High
School & Aviation and Aerospace Academy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She was selected by her teachers to visit the United States Air Force
Academy. Davis is involved with the Civil Air Patrol, Black Pilots of
America, and a high school Junior Air Force Reserve Officers Training
Corps. She has attended the Flight Exploration Camp 2001 at Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical University and the Black Pilots of America Summer Flight
Academy. Davis obtained her CFI this summer and her CFII. From flight
instructor, she would like to work for a small airline or charter
service. Davis hopes to become a captain for a major airline, just like
her uncle. Fushsia Davis finished high school in June 2003 and by
October 2003, had earned the following license and ratings:
Private Pilot License
Instrument Rating
Multi-Engine Rating
Commercial Pilot License
Certified Flight Instructor
Certified Flight Instructor –Instruments
Multi- Engine Instructor
Citation Jet –type rating
She has also logged time in the Cheyenne,
Citation Jet, King Air, and whatever else she can get into.
She is currently a college student and
working as a flight instructor with Sky Blue Aviation Academy at
Morristown Municipal Airport (MMU) in
Morristown, NJ. She is a member of the Roscoe Draper Chapter
ChaChapter (Philadelphia, PA)
