WWW.FLY-LOW.COM KEEPS CHANGING

Our website, www.fly-low.com, continues to change.  Last month, we started putting our classifieds on line.  This is done with no additional charge to the customer.  Now would be the best time to get your item sold (hint, hint).  Send your classified to us, ASAP.  It will be the best $10 you ever spent.  Our website has reached the 100,000 hits for the first time last month.  Since January 1, our site is receiving five times the hits per month more than it received last year.  Many of our stories get on the net as we can post them.  Usually, there is a new posting every day or two…  Our events calendar is updated when we receive new info.  We are told that our events calendar is one of the most current and up-to-date on the Internet.  We try!  If your event is not there, by all means, send me the information via e-mail.  A fax works also, only slower.

Stories are always welcome at our office, if you enjoy writing and want to submit a story… be our guest and send your story in for a review.  We are happy to print material from guest writers when space allows.

I DO HAVE AN OFFICE

I don’t just hang around airports with pen and camera in hand.  I was found in my office this month by Jon Williamson of Colorado Springs, CO.  He was passing through Arkansas visiting family and friends.  The picture proves that I have an office which holds all my airplane “junk”.   I actually do spend a lot of time at the various airports, “working”.  During the last two weeks of the month, my office gets a lot of use.

SPAM, SPAM, AND MORE SPAM!!!

My e-mail box is packed all the time with JUNK mail.  Some days I get as many as three-hundred pieces of junk mail.  I mass delete 12 at a time.  If you ever e-mail me and get no response, you will know why.  You were mass deleted along with my outgoing spam, sorry!  Just e-mail me again with an aviation “blurp” in the subject line.

“Why don’t I get a spam blocker?”  Good question?  I am not sure that spam blockers provide a relief.  They often park the mail in another location for the user to go through.  So!  I park it in the “Delete” folder the moment it comes in.  It seems that the spammers can go to my website and remove all the e-mail addresses posted there.  From that they can add me to a list and I will get their e-mail.  The other thing they do is to grab the address and start sending out e-mail with virus attachments showing my return address...  I know, because I received a virus attachment from myself, once.  Yet, my computer shows to be clean.  What are we to do with this problem???

BEFORE TROUBLE STARTS

I know how sensitive some people are, therefore, I would like to add some information to explain the picture shown on this page in the last issue.  I know that the mail will start to come in explaining how I must have hurt the feelings of my other granddaughters when I posted the caption under the picture of Sarah and me last month.  Well, for those who weren’t able to figure it out…  I only have one granddaughter and she is Sarah, “My favorite granddaughter!”  Please don’t scold me for hurting the feelings of those granddaughters I don’t have.  I had hoped that everyone would figure out that Sarah was the only one.
