Women in Aviation Endowment Fund Grows By
Leaps and Bounds
March 24 — Women in
Aviation, International concluded one of its most successful conferences
ever this past Saturday night, March 12, awarding more than half a
million dollars in scholarships to 55 deserving members during the gala
banquet and Pioneer Hall of Fame ceremony.
Something unusual
happened this year, however, during the banquet. Just before Women in
Aviation, International began to hand out scholarships, three of the
organization’s members, American Airlines/American Eagle, United Parcel
Service and The Chuck Yeager Foundation, each chipped in money to the
Women in Aviation, International Endowment Fund, pumping it up to more
than $370,000. This fund provides several scholarships a year to
deserving Women in Aviation, International members. Contributors were:
American
Airlines/American Eagle: $5,000
United Parcel
Service: $25,000,
The Chuck Yeager
Foundation: $20,000
