Hall of Fame
On Saturday, Oct. 30, the Class of 2004 was enshrined
into the Kentucky Aviation Hall of Fame. At a black-tie dinner, 250
guests gathered at the Aviation Museum of Kentucky at Blue Grass Airport
in Lexington to
honor five Kentuckians and recognize the AeroClub of Louisville with the
2004 Aviation Achievement Award.

Louisville; Sen. Jim Bunning, who presented the Muellers for
enshrinement; Enshrinee David Mueller, Comair Co-founder; Enshrinee Gen.
Joseph Ralston, USAF, Retired, former NATO Supreme Allied Commander,
Europe; Enshrinee Bill Sullivan, Champion Air Racer; Kaye Combs Moore,
who presented Dr. Proffitt for enshrinement; Dr. Dick Wham, who
presented Mr. Sullivan for enshrinement. Seated: Enshrinee Raymond
Mueller, Comair Co-founder; Dr. Shelba Proffitt, responsible for
America's missile defense systems; Gen. Russell Dougherty, USAF,
Retired, former commander of the US Strategic Air Command, and 1998
Kentucky Aviation Hall of Fame enshrinee, who presented Gen. Ralston for
enshrinement.
This was the ninth annual enshrinement to the Hall of Fame, which
researches and recognizes Kentucky's aviation achievers. The Hall of
Fame is an initiative of the Aviation Museum of Kentucky at Blue Grass
Airport. Other enshrinees include Tuskegee Airman Maj. Julius Calloway,
WASP Esther Ammerman; CIA pilot Frances Gary Powers; World War II Ace
Judge HenryMeigs and thirty-two other Kentuckians. See information about
