Cape Girardeau Air Fest

The Cape Girardeau (MO) Regional Air Festival is excited about this year’s upcoming festivities as we celebrate and honor our United States Veterans and Heartland Heroes at the 2006 Cape Girardeau Regional Air Festival “ Heroes and Legends – a Salute to Those Who Serve” on July 7 & 8 at the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport.

The Air Festival will pay a patriotic tribute to the many United States Veterans and the many current enlisted men and women who continue to serve our country as the heroes and legends to defend our freedom.

An outstanding show is planned, including performances by Aeroshell Aerobatic Team, Skip Stewart Airshows, Franklin Airshow, Bill Leff Starfire Show, Air Force A-10 East Coast Demonstration Team, T-6 Texan II Demonstration Team, Dodge Ram Jet, 82nd All-American Freefall Team and a host of other civilian and military warbirds.   We have prided ourselves in bringing some of the top air show performers in the business to our venue.  Last year’s 2005 Air Festival was no exception, with Bill Leff’s Starfire Night Show along with Skip Stewart and motorcross jumper Cody Elkins topping our headlining entertainment.

Over the past seven years, the Cape Girardeau Regional Air Festival has grown to attracting an audience of approximately 12,000 fans, which is one of the largest single events in this region.  As before, the weekend will kick off with a Twilight Show and Hangar Dance Friday evening, July 7th, with the gates opening at 5:30 PM and the show to start at 7:00 PM. The annual Hangar Dance will start immediately following the show.  Saturday, July 8th,  the gates will open at 11:00 AM, with the day show to begin at 4:00 PM and the night show to begin at 8:30 PM.
