A
FAMILY OF AVIATORS

I have traveled many miles this summer. Many states have
seen my footprint. You would think that I would be a stranger in
a strange land. Well, that has not been the case. It doesn’t
seem to matter if I am in Fort Scott (KS), Tucumcari (NM),
Amarillo (TX), Memphis (TN), or North Little Rock (AR). I have
been traveling from one branch of my aviation family to another.
The family is one heck of a super family. It extends from
California to across the Atlantic. You might as well say it
circles the world. The family is a select group. One that I am
proud to belong. It didn’t matter what city I was in, I was
treated like I was a member of the family. That is hard to
believe. There is less than one percent of the United States
population that can legally fly in an airplane. That less than
one percent is comprised of some really great folks. They share
their love of aviation with a lot of folks.
TEMPORARY (PERMANENT) FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS
We had adjusted our home page on
www.fly-low.com to include
the President’s TFR’s. This new link will inform you of the
flight of Air Force One with the President on board. That
presidential TFR will take a sixty mile diameter circle of no
flight zone out of your homeland. This is one TFR you best not
BUST. Personally, I feel the area of coverage of the TFR is way
too large. But they didn’t ask me and they don’t listen to AOPA
and EAA. There is another link on the same page that links you
to the TFR’s associated with Homeland security down to wild
fires. It is disappointed that there are still TFR’s over
Disneyland (CA) and Disney World (FL). These have been in effect
for quite some time and are about as useless as utters on a
bull. There are other TFR’s that are just as useless... but once
the Temporary Flight Restrictions get in effect… the word
temporary seems to be permanent. That is disappointing... It
would help if you contacted your congressman to get the
Permanent Flight Restriction regulated to Temporary. Check our
website, www.fly-low.com, for up to date info before you fly.
Safe flying is no accident.
AIR SHOW SEASON COMES TO AN END
Needless to say, the end of 2003 is very close. One of the
projects we have now is to build the 2004 Air Events Calendar.
If you would like your event posted early, I suggest you email
the info to
airmail@fly-low.com. We will get your event on our website
at the earliest possible moment. Send us all the info and a
contact name and number. That makes our job easier. If you have
a change of date or time during the year, remember to contact us
so that we can update the calendar. |
