About Us: "Throttle
Forward"
By Ralph McCormick, Publisher
This issue we are
mailing 7,000 FAA Certificate holders in Arkansas an issue of Fly-Low.
We want to invite those of you who do not walk into an
airport each month to subscribe to Fly-Low.
We mailed a copy to the same mail list on our first issue
in March. Now that
we have been publishing for 5 months, I wanted to provide you
with what I believe to be a “New and Improved” version.
We are learning from our mistakes each month.
It is our desire to produce a top-flight aviation
magazine. I think
that those of you, who have not seen a copy of Fly-Low since the
first issue, will see a difference in this issue.
We have improved. As
always, we welcome your comments and suggestions. |

We
publish each month and the normal procedure is to furnish the
copies to the FBO’s. The
magazine is free to all. If
you desire to receive a copy delivered to your home, just contact
us for a subscription.
Now on to bigger and better things.
Many thanks go out to the advertisers you see on these
pages. They are the
backbone of our magazine. I
salute them and appreciate their continued support of our effort
to provide information about aviation to 15,000 people in eleven
States.
My
travel this month has taken me to the southern most part of
Arkansas. I have
determined that the “hardest to find” airport (by car) is El
Dorado Downtown. They
have been placed at the top of the list as of today.
I will say that after you find Bobby and Sharon Tucker at
El Dorado Downtown, you will enjoy the visit.
They have managed the FBO for 26 years.
It was a pleasure to visit with them.
I hope they don’t mind being nominated for the
“hardest to find (by car) airport.” I should have taken my GPS in the car. It is worth a stop at F43.
They make you feel welcome and the fuel prices are always
low.

There
is one thing I have found since I started Fly-Low.
The aviation community in Arkansas is ONE BIG FAMILY.
I didn’t realize to what extent that family was
inter-twined until this year.
The fact the family is spread through out the four
corners of the State is a bit unusual, but the family is still
just that. As a
pilot I have always had a family at the local airport.
I now know that the family extends to the borders of the
State and outward. The
aviation family extends into Oklahoma, Texas, Mississippi, and
to every State in the Union. Perhaps this magazine can provide a vehicle to further
connect our family. I
certainly hope so.
