About Us: "Throttle Forward"
By Ralph McCormick, Publisher

This is our anniversary issue and I am elated that we have the first (and hardest year) out of the way.  This year has been most interesting-to say the least!  Every issue has its on problems…  None so great as a last minute (and I mean minute) front page change.  None like the time no writers sent in stories….  I ran out of copy.. ads.. and started writing hastily.  The most important thing is that you the reader enjoy what you see…. And the advertiser sees results from the ads…

Fly-Low is expanding into new territory all the time.  Our coverage will remain the twelve states we presently cover for a while.  We want to expand within those states before we go outside of them.  We are climbing toward the three hundred mark on number of airports we ship.  It is not uncommon to get several requests per week from new airports wanting magazines sent to them to give to pilots.  That is a very good sign.  I am happy with my first year with Fly-Low, and looking forward to the next 30 years.  I hope you will be with us all the way…. And tell your friends.

Our cover represents six of the twelve covers that rated high with us.  The October cover will most likely stand-alone.  It represents the emotion aviators felt during the days after September 11.  The sunrise represents the beginning of a new age of aviation.  The flag represents the patriotism and strength found within the soul of every American.  The eagle represents the KICK ASS attitude the opposition finds when they give America a sucker punch.  Japan remembers Pearl Harbor….  Osama bin Laden remembers September 11….  Needless to say, we at FLY-LOW are proud of the attitudes and actions of the majority of aviators since that event.  Most proud are we of those now fighting in Afghanistan for the American Flag and freedom from terrorism worldwide.
